University of Minnesota Honor Band

We proud to announce that 13 of our Apple Valley band students were chosen for the U of M Honor Band!  It’s a great accomplishment!  Congrats to our students and band programs!

Solo and Ensemble Festival
Saturday, February 4, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
AVHS is hosting a solo and ensemble festival for students who wish to perform either a solo or ensemble piece for a clinician and receive comments and advice on their performance.  See the attached performance schedule.  All performances are free and open to the public. Come and listen to these talented students play!

Great Fundraising Opportunities!

Maravonda Coffee - Our major general account fundraiser for this year is Maravonda Winter Blend Coffee. We still have 300+ bags of pre-purchased coffee to sell with AVHS Band logos printed on them. One bag sells for $13 or 2/$25 (checks payable to AVHS Band Boosters).  

Premium Select Cheescake - Funds raised directly benefit individual student fundraising accounts.  Students will earn $5 on every cheesecake sold.  Funds can be used to offset costs such as the fall 2012 band trip.  Orders and payment are due February 24 (checks payable to AVHS Band Boosters).

Broadway 2012 will showcase music and movement from two uniquely different decades. In the 1970s, many of the "radical" ideas of the 60's gained wider acceptance and were mainstreamed into American culture. Act 1 will feature the tremendous diversity of musical styles from the 70s including Pop, Hard and Progressive Rock, Blues Rock, Disco, R & B, and beloved songs from wonderful film scores. Act 2 will feature the 00s, where pop, hip hop, contemporary R & B, new wave, jazz, country and alternative rock dominated and defined the decade's music. Join over 100 of Apple Valleys finest young performers present this exciting 50-year musical retrospective.
