Gertens Fundraiser

It’s time for the annual AVHS Band Spring Fundraiser... Gertens Flowers!

Please see the attachments for your 2024 AVHS Band Boosters Gertens Brochure,

which provides instructions for your customers and includes all gift cards and plants that

are available, along with their pricing. See this link to an online price list as well.

All orders must be placed online at www.gertensfundraising.com using store 217 OR

access using the QR code at the bottom of this posting.

All band students can earn $$$ toward the next band trip. Our group will receive 30% of

all plant sales and 15% of Plant Card sales. Of that, your student will earn 50% for their

student account and the remaining 50% will go to the Band Booster general account.

Our Gertens website is open NOW, February 12th – 10pm on Thursday, March 28th.

This is a firm date and no late orders can be accepted. You will find more information on

our Gertens website.

Plants are delivered just prior to Mother's Day and make perfect gifts!

To access the site and place an order for our group:

5. **Remind your customers to add the first and last name of your student

CHIPOTLE FUNDRAISER, Tuesday January 23, 2024 from 4-8 PM

BAND CONCERT (all bands) MONDAY, DECEMBER 11th

Band concerts are our “finals”. Attendance is mandatory unless it is an emergency situation. Students will need to arrive by 6:15pm to allow time for warm-ups and yearbook pictures. The concert starts at 7pm. Please make sure your student is dressed appropriately for the concert:

Concert Band (9th Grade) – wear the band t-shirt provided by the band boosters (these were given to students in early October) along with black pants, black socks, and black dress shoes.

Symphonic Band & Wind Ensemble (10th-12th grade) – concert formalwear. Long black dress provided by the band boosters along with black dress shoes OR Black tux jacket, black dress pants, black socks, black dress shoes, white dress shirt, black bowtie or long black tie.

AVHS Apparel from the Band Boosters

Our Apparel Store is open for your Holiday gift giving! Check items off your gift list while supporting the Apple Valley Band Boosters. Store is open until November 27th. We have some apparel available with the AV Band logo and some apparel with the Apple Valley Eagles logo. New items to the store include a Fleece & Poly 50x60 Travel Blanket and a Fleece 50x60 Sweatshirt Blanket both with the AV Band logo. These make great gifts for your home or your vehicle. A portion of the proceeds go to support the Apple Valley Band Boosters.

GIVE TO THE MAX DAY FOR BAND BOOSTERS

Give to the Max Day (GiveMN) is coming soon on November 16, 2023. Early giving has begun! GiveMN is a nonprofit that helps match donors with other nonprofits that help to make our community stronger.

Cub Foods Bagging Fundraiser

We would like to share a Cub Foods bagging opportunity for band students looking to raise funds for the Spring 2026 Band Trip!

This is a great (fun) opportunity for Freshman and Sophomore students. All tips earned for the day are equally distributed into the student accounts of the students helping.

This year the bagging event is Saturday November 18th with shifts starting at 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.

Each shift of six students needs two adults to help watch over the money in the donation bucket, and encourage/direct the students to help bagging. Apparel site is open!

Our apparel site is open and ready to take orders. You can choose from apparel with the AV Band logo or the Apple Valley Eagles logo. Our store is open until October 8th and items will be delivered 3 weeks after the store closes. Our Band Boosters will receive a portion of the proceeds. We will reopen the store in November with delivery by mid- December.

Band Booster Kickoff/Football Game Fundraiserj on 9/8/2023: Pulled Pork Sandwiches, 50/50 Raffle:

Purchase a ticket for the 50/50 Raffle to benefit the Band.

Head into the game and purchase a PULLED PORK MEAL at the concession stand. Please note— Although there are many other great food items options at concessions, ONLY the Pulled Pork Meal will benefit the band, and will be available from 5:30pm until right before halftime. Our goal is to sell 100 meals!!
Free Root Beer Floats provided to all band students and their families while we hear the band play before they enter the stadium. (The 10th -12th grader playing will get their Floats after they finish playing at halftime).

Rascal's Dine-In Fundraiser:

Please join us for a spring Dine-In Evening at Rascal's Bar and Grill (7721 147th St. W., Apple Valley MN) from 5pm-8pm on May 1st. Rascal's generates 10% of profits from the evening sales to AVHS Band Boosters, so please get dinner out if you can!

Winter Dine-Out Fundraiser:

Please join us for the winter dine-out fundraiser. Jersey Mikes in Apple Valley generously donates 50% of sales on February 9 between 4-8 pm to the Band Booster program so lets make it count!

Most important is to mention Apple Valley Bands when ordering either in the store or online.

VON HANSON'S FUNDRAISER

We are squeezing in one more fundraiser before our final payment is due in February for the April band trip.

If you are not going on the band trip in April any sales will be put into your student account for future events.

The fundraiser is for a Von Hanson (an Apple Valley locally owned meat market) tin of either beef or Italian sausage lasagna. Customers will receive a certificate to pick up the lasana tins at their leisure - so please only sell locally. Each tin serves 6 - 8 people. You can find the order form (PDF) here.

IMPORTANT! ATHLETIC BAND DATE CHANGE to TUESDAY, DEC. 20th

The girls’ basketball game on Thursday, December 15th (Athletic Band was scheduled to perform, Concert Band assigned) has been moved to TUESDAY, DECEMBER 20th! The Athletic Band originally scheduled for Thursday, December 15th will now be moving to TUESDAY, DECEMBER 20th as well. Student arrival time is still at 6:15pm. Sometimes changes occur that beyond our control. Thank you for your flexibility.

Band Bake Sale - Calling all bakers! During the December 12th Band Concert, we’ll have our first

Bake Sale of the year. You can support the band by:

1) bringing baked goods

2) volunteering during the sale; and/or

3) purchasing treats for your family

Baked goods can be homemade or purchased. Please package in small amounts (snack or sandwich

bag size) and mark anything that has nuts or is gluten-free. Donations can be dropped off December 12th - either 5:30-6:15pm in the AVHS Lobby or before school with the Band Directors. .

Band Boosters Droolin’ Moose Chocolate Fundraiser

The AVHS band boosters are offering students the opportunity to sell Droolin’ Moose chocolates to support the boosters and raise money towards individual student band trip accounts. Students will bank $2 per product sold to be used to offset costs of the band trip.

Order forms will be distributed Sept 29th and will be due back (with payment) at school on Monday, October 17th (this date was revised/extended by the band boosters).

Pickup date for Droolin' Moose orders is Nov 1, 2022 from 3PM-6PM in the AVHS parking lot (take the bus lane). Sarah Lenzen will be delivering the orders from her car. Please plan to pick up your orders at this time and date.

Athletic Band

All 10th-12th grade band members (Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble) will be part of the athletic band

at the home football games. The first performance is Friday, September 9th, 2022. Students will need to

arrive at AVHS by 6pm that evening.

Burgers and Brats Fundraiser for the Band Boosters Friday, Sept. 9th

The band boosters will be selling burgers and brats right outside the stadium entrance. Come to the game a little early and enjoy dinner cooked by our band booster volunteers.

Private Lession Scholarship Program

Band Boosters is collaborating with the AVHS Band Directors to launch a new Private Lesson Scholarship

Program in the fall. Students who are selected for financial assistance will have the opportunity to study for

the entire school year with an expert on their instrument. We’re excited to provide this opportunity to our

students. We need your support to make it happen!

We are currently accepting donations online! All donations via our GiveMN page through June 3rd, 2022

As an added incentive, an anonymous donor has offered a matching gift that kicks in if we raise at least $500
